Shade-grown, sun-dried, and hand-sorted, these carefully cultivated beans present gorgeous nuanced flavors and bright acidity. Guatemala is home to some of the most clearly "flavor-identifiable" micro-climate coffees in the world. This is due to the combination of young, active volcanic soils, extremely high altitudes, and early morning clouds. The dense, early morning fogs, heavy dew, and steep mountainsides create rare micro-climates. The result is a highly distinguished cup of coffee, with a quiet and enjoyable complexity. This Huehuetenango is among the highest quality coffees that we have added as a new addition to our offerings this year. Huixoc Estate is a farm in the Huehuetenango region. The primary focus there is pine tree forestry, but coffee was historically the main crop. This is an old and well-established farm with high elevations and a sunny harvest season. The Guatemala Huehuetenango ‘Huixoc Estate’ coffee (pronounced wee-chok; Mayan, meaning “spring in the rocks”) is Rainforest Alliance Certified. The springs are critical to Huixoc’s quality, providing abundant water for coffee and other crops, the workers and families, and energy for the estate’s coffee mill. Altitude: 4,200-5,500 ft. Nicaraguan coffee trade has been impacted by hurricane devastation as well as the politics and ravages of civil war, and a long interruption during the cold war years when the US prohibited the importing of Nicaraguan coffee. Today, Nicaragua appears to be making a comeback. This award winning coffee is produced at La Finca, the Young Life Camp and Farm in the mountains of Nicaragua. La Finca is a paradise, a beautiful retreat from the harsh realities of a poverty culture where they grow some of the best coffee that Nicaragua has to offer. The workers are paid a dignified wage, and every penny of profit is used to send a Nicaraguan young person to the Young Life Camp. The camp doubles as a working farm where world-class coffee is grown and sold and the profit of one bag of coffee goes to send one Nicaraguan youth to camp for a day. When we sell a bag of coffee, we are making this Nicaraguan ministry to young people self-sustaining and self-supporting. That is why we say that 100% of what we do with our coffee is to benefit young Nicaraguans, to reach them with the message of the Christian gospel, and to help them navigate through the difficult waters of a poverty culture. Your purchase of coffee is making a difference in the lives of hundreds of Nicaraguans and as you enjoy it, share this story with your friends. The Nicaragua La Rubia presents a crisp, fruity cup with a baker's chocolate finish to top off the taste. This coffee has a medium body and presents a pleasant, comforting finish. A wonderful afternoon, evening, or late night coffee, the La Rubia offers a distinct difference in morning blend coffees. This is an elegant coffee and it has enough body to stand up to dark roasts. The versatile, dense bean allows it to be roasted at any level you desire to taste. There are two schools of thought when it comes to iced coffee, the hot-brewed and the cold-brewed. While they adhere to very different methods, there is one point both agree upon: pouring regular-brewed coffee over ice is nothing short of a travesty. Coffee is a fragile beverage, and it doesn't sustain extreme change in temperatures well. Often times, this will result in a coffee that is acrid, sour or weak. So, how do you make a good iced coffee? Well, it depends on your tastes and the way you perceive iced coffee. If you want an iced beverage that tastes like regular coffee, the hot-brewed method will give you that result. If you see iced and regular coffee as two separate entities, you may be a fan of the cold-brew variety. The hot-brewed method will result in a more robust flavor while the cold brew is mellow and naturally sweet. Ingredients • 1 pound Ground Coffee (good, Rich Roast) • 8 quarts Cold Water • Half-and-half (healthy Splash Per Serving) • Sweetened Condensed Milk (2-3 Tablespoons Per Serving) • Note: Can Use Skim Milk, 2% Milk, Whole Milk, Sugar, Artificial Sweeteners, Syrups...adapt To Your Liking! Preparation: In a large container, mix ground coffee with water. Cover and allow to sit at room temperature eight hours or overnight. Line a fine mesh strainer with cheesecloth and set over a pitcher or other container. Pour coffee/water mixture through the strainer, allowing all liquid to run through. Discard grounds. Place coffee liquid in the fridge and allow to cool. Use as needed. To make iced coffee, pack a glass full of ice cubes. Fill glass 2/3 full with coffee liquid. Add healthy splash of half-and-half. Add 2-3 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk (can use plain sugar instead) and stir to combine. Chiapas is the country’s southernmost state, home to the Sierra Madre de Chiapas Mountain range. To its west are the coffee growing regions of Oaxaca and Vera Cruz, but it is the beans of Guatemala’s Huehuetenango region, directly to the east, with which Chiapas coffee shares so much character. Farmers in Chiapas have begun a transition back to organic farming techniques as a way to achieve self-sufficiency and to create sustainability for their communities. The continued development of a network of Fair Trade farmers’ cooperatives is helping local people slowly improve their quality of life. The state of Chiapas is located in the Sierra Madre Mountains and receives the perfect combination of rainfall and sunshine to create this strictly high grown bean. This particular organic, fairly traded, shade grown, and bird friendly coffee is served in finer restaurants throughout Mexico. In 1996, just 4 short years after forming, the Mexican government awarded the cooperative the National Ecological Prize for environmental stewardship. Roasting Notes: Light to medium body with mild acidity and balanced, with delicate fruit and spice overtones. A hard bean that takes a dark roast well. I would use this coffee in French or Italian roasts but also cups well in the City - Full City range. Chiapas, the tropical jungle that is the most southern eastern part of Mexico, borders with Guatemala. Chiapas is the coffee little brother of Guatemala's Hue Hue Tenango region, and this comes through in the cup. Chiapian coffees are brighter, sweeter, with a definite clove spice to compliment the apricot fruit that is in the cup.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0002/1115/7052/products/12-lbs-mexican-chiapas-mocabe-shg-ep-organic-fresh-unroasted-100percent-arabica-coffee-beans-rhoadsroast-coffees-and-importers-1.jpg?v=1657623512
2-5-lbs-costa-rica-shb-tarrazu-la-pastora-light-blonde-roast-coffee-beans
2.5 lbs. The soil is mostly volcanic and gives the beans a high acidity. Coopetarrazu is a driving force in the community. Besides being the largest employer in the region, it is constantly training its associates in the latest techniques to improve quality and production. Its workers are protected by an occupational safety program supervised by INS, the Costa Rican insurance company. Recycling and education programs have been introduced in the community by the cooperative's staff and thousands of dollars are donated every year to worthy programs in the region. Though not as renown as other coffee such a Kona or Jamaica, the quality of Tarrazu is quickly being recognized by coffee connoisseurs. Originally named Finca Ceylan & Colima, the name was later changed to Finca Ceylan & Anexos (annexes) as other farms became a part of it. The farm hires mostly local labor, generating jobs for people in the surrounding towns. Conscientious environmental practices are employed in and around the farm. The coffee residue from the wet mill is used as an organic fertilizer for the farm, creating a self-sufficient system. To protect its abundant water resources, the farm maintains the river basins and the natural vegetation that grows nearby. Before disposal, the water used in the wet mill processing is filtered through oxidation tanks to prevent contamination of the nearby rivers. Finca Ceylan has a natural forest reserve that is protected - hunting and fishing are prohibited - to conserve different species of trees, plants, and wildlife in the ecosystem. The farm’s employees and their families are provided with housing, drinkable water, and educational benefits. The cultivation of alternative crops such as cardamom, macadamia nuts, bananas, and plantains also helps to provide for the well-being of the farm families. Atitlan coffees tend to be more relaxed than Huehuetenango coffees, but no less tasty. The flavor profile is similar - creamy chocolate, nice complexity to the body, some lemon and floral accents. Guatemalan coffee tends to be the most complex of all Central & South American coffees, which is why we like them so much. The Pulped Natural Process is becoming more popular in Central America for the sweet fruit note it imparts to the cup. The beauty of this cup really comes out well with the Pulped Natural (PN, honey processed) process: you get the even roast of a wet process with the fermented darker fruit notes of a dry process. Beans are grown under variety of shade trees in ideal setting for tree maturation--constant breezes, full sunshine and relatively cool, dry nights. What sets this coffee apart is the processing:to create pulped natural, as opposed to fully washed coffees, the coffee cherry skin is removed, but instead of the sticky mucilage underneath being washed off, the beans with mucilage intact goes directly to the drying patios and is dried, raked, dried some more. This is very labor intensive as the constant raking and turning of the sticky parchment is essential. What this lends to the coffee is a brighter and sweeter finish. When all the steps are preformed correctly the results are a slight increase in sweetness, body and aromatics traditionally found in natural processed coffee, and a milder acidity than we usually find in most washed coffees.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0002/1115/7052/products/2-5-lbs-el-salvador-santa-ana-reserva-organic-natural-ep-fresh-medium-roast-100percent-arabica-coffee-beans-rhoadsroast-coffees-and-importers-1.jpg?v=1657599144
3-lbs-nicaragua-la-finca-la-rubia-shg-ep-green-coffee-beans
3 lbs.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0002/1115/7052/products/2-lbs-mexican-chiapas-mocabe-shg-ep-organic-fresh-dark-espresso-roast-100percent-arabica-coffee-beans-rhoadsroast-coffees-and-importers-1.jpg?v=1657618918
6-pounds-costa-rica-shb-tarrazu-la-pastora-medium-fresh-roasted-coffee-beans-whole-bean
6 lbs. In 2001, fostered by a foundation called Funder, COMSA earned their organic certification from Bio Latina which has enabled them to market their coffee to more international buyers and realize better selling prices for their coffee. In February 2006, COMSA then applied for and was granted Fair Trade certification status. COMSA uses the Fair Trade price premium to fund many social projects including paying teachers’ salaries and purchasing school supplies. The premium also finances the construction of kitchens in the schools in support of the Merienda Escolar program that provides meals for school children. Varietals: Bourbon, Caturra, Catuai, Mundo Novo. Drying: Sun-dried on Patios. Ama Cafe is a signature line of coffee blended from the two estates, both of which have been under the care of the Aguilar family for over 150 years (currently under management of the fifth and sixth generation). Coffee is depulped within a few hours of being picked before removing the mucilage and finally washed in an ecological friendly wet will. The mill not only helps the estate conserve water and allows the coffee pulp to be used as a natural fertilizer for their crop, but also provides employment for the people of the area. The success of the estate is due to generations of commitment by the Aguilar family to the coffee crop and its farmers. The family continues the tradition of shade-grown coffee which produces a high quality product efficiently while maintaining and promoting biodiversity and ecological richness in the area. The Aguilar family is committed to the social development of the coffee farmers, their families, and the communities around them. The estate was one of the first to provide many services that are now considered basic, such as drinking water, electricity and food staples. Currently the Aguilar family provides housing, education, and healthcare to the 20 families who live and work on the estate. A portion of all proceeds go towards a non-profit association, Amigos del Volcan, created to improve the standard of living for the communities that live on the Salvador Volcano.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0002/1115/7052/products/2-5-lbs-el-salvador-shg-santa-maria-dark-roast-100percent-arabica-coffee-beans-rhoadsroast-coffees-and-importers-1.jpg?v=1657599013
2-pounds-costa-rica-shb-tarrazu-la-pastora-light-fresh-roasted-coffee-beans-whole-bean
2 lbs. These beans are grown at high altitudes, above 1200 – 1800 m allowing them to be designated Single Hard Bean – the highest classification in the Costa Rican system. Tarrazu coffee is growing through word of mouth and through coffee aficianados rather than by marketing, making its stage on the world market slow but steady. The Tarrazu coffee region of Costa Rica won’t be kept a secret for much longer. Costa Rican coffee beans are graded by the hardness of the bean. This is determined by the altitude at which they are grown: - (SHB) strictly hard bean is a coffee grown above 3,900 feet. - (GHB) good hard bean grow at 3,300 to 3,900 feet. - (MHB) medium hard bean grown at 1,600 to 3,300 feet. This Ceylan coffee has more citrus notes than the Huehuetenango and the chocolate is more cocoa than milk chocolate.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0002/1115/7052/products/2-lbs-guatemala-finca-ceylan-organic-shg-rfa-smbc-fresh-light-roast-100percent-arabica-coffee-beans-rhoadsroast-coffees-and-importers-1.jpg?v=1657616889
2-pounds-unroasted-coffee-beans-premium-select-from-rhoadsroast-coffees-el-slavador-shg-honey-processed
5 lbs. These beans are grown at high altitudes, above 1200 – 1800 m allowing them to be designated Single Hard Bean – the highest classification in the Costa Rican system. Tarrazu coffee is growing through word of mouth and through coffee aficionados rather than by marketing, making its stage on the world market slow but steady.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0002/1115/7052/products/2-lbs-mexican-chiapas-mocabe-shg-ep-organic-fresh-mediumdark-roast-100percent-arabica-coffee-beans-rhoadsroast-coffees-and-importers-1.jpg?v=1657618559
2-5-lbs-el-salvador-shg-santa-maria-rfa-light-roast-coffee-beans-fresh-daily
2.5 lbs.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0002/1115/7052/products/2-5-lbs-el-salvador-shg-santa-maria-rfa-fresh-light-roast-100percent-arabica-coffee-beans-rhoadsroast-coffees-and-importers-1.jpg?v=1657598868
custom-roasted-coffee-beans-for-the-best-iced-coffees-costa-rica-shb-ep-tarrazu-la-pastora-coffee-beans-1-pound-medium-to-dark-custom-roasted-coffee-beans
1 lb. Taste and adjust half-and-half and/or sweetened condensed milk as needed.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0002/1115/7052/products/1-lb-costa-rica-shb-ep-tarrazu-la-pastora-mediumdark-roast-for-the-best-iced-coffees-rhoadsroast-coffees-and-importers-4.jpg?v=1689815034
green-unroasted-coffee-5-lb-bag-rhoadsroast-coffees-mexican-el-mezcal-micro-lot
5 lbs. El Mezcal used to be part of a large finca but instead of working for a finca, the group wanted to have their own farm...so they left the finca and decided to produce coffee. The location of the farm in the Southern Mexican state of Chiapas, known for producing the best coffee in Mexico, makes this coffee a wonderful experience. We loved cupping it and brought some home this past weekend...drank it all! It was a real challenge to pick our favorite roast level for this wonderful Mexican El Mezcal Micro Lot.The lighter roasts will yield brighter acidity and mild fruit; the darker roasts, depth, chocolate, and caramel. In the end, we settled on a Full City Roast for the round body with mild, complex acidity. City Roast - This roast level will yield the most complexity, brighter acidity and fruit. While you get full origin characteristics here, you will lose depth. Full City Roast - We prefer this roast level in order to experience the best overall balance of sweetness, body, and character. Full City (+) Roast - This was our second favorite roast level. This roast level will bring the focus on depth, tempered brightness and fruit. Chocolate and caramel notes become apparent. Darker Roasts - This roast will provide the huge depth, but will sacrifice brighter notes.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0002/1115/7052/products/3-lbs-el-salvador-santa-ana-reserva-organic-natural-ep-fresh-unroasted-100percent-arabica-coffee-beans-rhoadsroast-coffees-and-importers-1.jpg?v=1657600826
5lbs-nicaragua-la-finca-la-rubia-shg-ep-smooth-medium-roast-fresh-roasted-daily
5 lbs. Roasted to Vienna stage, this coffee can make an excellent and unique single-origin espresso.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0002/1115/7052/products/5lbs-nicaragua-shg-ep-fancy-finca-la-rubia-fresh-medium-roast-100percent-arabica-coffee-beans-rhoadsroast-coffees-and-importers-1.jpg?v=1657566961
copy-of-100-arabica-fresh-roasted-coffee-beans-1
Guatemala Finca Ceylan SHG Fresh Roasted & Unroasted 100% Arabica Coffee Beans

Fresh Roasted Each Morning & Shipped in the Afternoon! This Ceylan coffee has more citrus notes than the Huehuetenango and the chocolate is more cocoa than milk chocolate.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0002/1115/7052/products/guatemala-finca-ceylan-organic-shg-rfa-smbc-fresh-100percent-arabica-coffee-beans-rhoadsroast-coffees-and-importers-1.jpg?v=1657574662
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0002/1115/7052/collections/newest-imports-rhoadsroast-coffees-and-importers.jpg?v=1746990718
