Iced Coffee or Cold Brew? Both are Delicious with the Right Coffee!


Many, many people ask us about iced coffee and what type of prep method do we prefer. Frankly, if you have the time and for storage, cold brew is an excellent method because it uses time, rather than heat to extract the coffee's oils, sugars, and caffeine. Cold Brew is made without heat, which creates lower acidity for a smoother, naturally sweet taste. Iced coffee is another delicious option for a cool coffee drink. This is created like any regular hot coffee brew method. It's simply hot coffee that has been cooled down so that it can be poured over ice. Iced Coffee is brewed double strength then cooled, which creates a refreshing, lighter body and a more lasting finish.

Yet, the most important ingredient is not the method, but the coffee! Lots of people will buy their favorite flavored coffee, but if it is not freshly roasted, then you will never experience the true enjoyment of GREAT iced or cold brewed coffee. The main difference in our coffee recommendations for iced or cold brew is the obvious roast level. Do you enjoy tasting the fuller bodied coffees, then choose medium/dark profiles. If you enjoying tasting the roast level with a higher caffeine content and brighter notes, the go for the light/medium roasts.
