- In the cup this coffee is lively and bright with notes of apricot and cocoa with a heavy body and a clean, crisp finish. This is our absolute favorite personal "go-to" natural coffee!
- Ethiopia produces some of the most unique and fascinating coffees in the world and are known for producing some of the most unique natural and pulp natural coffees.
- Ethiopian Harrar coffee is often used in espresso blends to capture the fine aromatics in the crema.
- At a medium roast the Guji delivered the fruitiness we were looking for, sweet and syrupy strawberry flavors with blueberry tones and chocolate-citrus notes at the finish. For fullest flavor, do not roast anything past the medium profile.
- Great Ethiopians are hard to come by these days – be sure to get a bag before they disappear.
- Characteristics: Smooth, creamy blueberry/strawberry nuances, floral notes, clean milk chocolate finish.
- Elevation: 1800-2000 meters.
- Dried on raised beds, triple hand sorted (ripe cherry, dry pods, processed beans).
- The Grade 3 aspect is simply removing more defects thru hand sorting than they do normally hence producing a cleaner, better cup.

I usually get the Misty Valley Ethiopian Natural but I thought I’d try this Guji Natural for a change. I will probably switch back to the Misty Valley as I think it is a much better coffee for my liking.
I found this coffee to be very different from my customary coffees. Quite favorably, actually. Over the last ten years, or so, I have tried coffees from the various continents. Somehow I had missed Africa. Saving the best for last, I suppose.
RhoadsRoast Ethiopian Natural Sidamo was very, very good. Not that the other (Kenya and Tanzanian) two are not spectacular in their own way. I was just unprepared for the vibrant taste of an almost fruit or fig-like finish. Once I had integrated this into my gustatory 'library', it was all hands on board! This is a new twist on the coffee flavor for me and I very much enjoy it!
