Honduras Comsa Marcala–citrus start with hints of cherry balanced by an almond-flavored, dark chocolate body with a sweet caramel finish.
This bean is much more lively than what is thought of as a typical Honduran coffee. Unroasted beans for home roasting enthusiasts are always from fresh, harvests imported yearly.
It is bright, syrupy sweet, and energetic. Honduran coffee usually has a more laid back character than this offering.
The fragrance of the brewed coffee is reminiscent of almonds and warm caramel with lemon lingering in the finish.
This is not a heavy coffee, but it has a pleasant intensity and brightness that is memorable.

Excellent coffee…

Not My Favorite

I'm not a coffee expert, but I do try different coffees with each order. This coffee just doesn't seem very flavorful compared to other coffees I have tried. I use a hand crank, antique burr grinder to grind the beans with each pot or cup. I have adjusted the fineness of the grind, amount per cup and brew strength. I have used both a drip coffee maker and a single cup refillable Keurig coffee maker, but I just don't seem to get as much flavor I prefer. It happens and that's OK.

Worst customer service ever

This is an updated review for August 2024.

I had the absolute worst experience with RhoadsRoast Coffees & Importers. I recently received a batch of their sale coffee, which turned out to be of horrendous quality. When I contacted customer service, they bombarded me with a long list of technicalities, essentially blaming me for the poor condition of the coffee. This was incredibly frustrating, especially since I've stored their coffee in the original bags on previous occasions without any issues.

I wasn't even asking for a refund or return; I simply wanted some acknowledgment of the issue. Instead, the person I spoke with rudely informed me that they would erase my account as their "resolution." This is by far the most unprofessional and disrespectful customer service I've ever encountered. Avoid RhoadsRoast Coffees & Importers at all costs if you value decent service and quality coffee.

Please see the attached pictures that corroborate low grain quality (size inconsistency, discoloration, and spots, uneven color, flat, dull appearance).
